  1. Dietary fat linked to melanoma risk in the U.S.

This paper found a link between dietary fat and risk of cutaneous malignang melanoma:

Millen AE, Tucker MA, Hartge P, Halpern A, Elder DE, Guerry D 4th, Holly EA, Sagebiel RW, Potischman N. Diet and melanoma in a case-control study. Cancer Epidemiol Biomarkers Prev. 2004 Jun;13(6):1042-51.

In my opinion, some types of dietary fat would be associated with increased free radical production, hence lower antioxidant status, hence increased risk of skin cancer and melanoma, since much skin cancer risk is related to free radical production. However, some fats might be protective.
