a Inter-sample heterogeneity. SNS signatures demonstrate a mean overlap of 28 % and 30.6 % between any two samples in the Common subset and blood samples. The low outliers in each of these groups represent samples from African-American patients. The Unique-to-ANT and Unique-to-PTC subsets have an even larger degree of diversity, sharing a mean of only 6.0 % and 4.9 % of their SNSs. b Comparison of each sample with its matched blood demonstrates that the majority of Common subset SNSs (mean 80.9 %) are also found in the blood samples.
