Characteristics of the study cohort of the 954 patients with stage IV colorectal cancer initially collected, those aged ≥75 years (n = 88), or those who had neuroendocrine cancer (n = 5), were excluded, leaving a total of 861 patients who were subjected to analysis. Of these, 638 had been referred to the surgery division and 223 to the gastrointestinal oncology division
