IL8 is a biomarker that could predict telomerase inhibition response. Cancer cells exclusively produce enzyme telomerase which is now targeted with pharmacological inhibitors like imetelstat. Inhibition of Telomerase leads to inhibition of IL8, which is a pro-oncogenic cytokine and thus inhibits cancer cells growth and progression. IL8 act as predictive biomarker for telomerase response
