We are recruiting!

Expanding the Section Editor team

New Content Item (4)

BMC Cancer is recruiting Section Editors to join the Editorial Board. As the growth of the journal continues, we must also ensure that it is able to cope with increased submissions whilst maintaining our high editorial standards.  Therefore, we are looking to expand our editorial team.

We are seeking applications from researchers with a background in these subject areas:

  • Clinical trials and protocol design
  • Biomarkers

BMC Cancer is an open access, peer-reviewed journal that considers articles on the epidemiology of disease and the understanding of all aspects of cancer research, including the pathophysiology, prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancers.

The journal does not make editorial decisions on the basis of the interest of a study or its likely impact. Studies must be scientifically valid; for research articles this includes a scientifically sound research question, the use of suitable methods and analysis, and following community-agreed standards relevant to the research field.

BMC series - open, inclusive and trusted.

Who are we looking for?

We are interested in individuals who are committed to open access, data sharing and innovation in scientific publishing. Our Section Editors should have a minimum of fifty research papers published in reputable peer-review journals.

Suitable Section Editors for BMC Cancer can be described as someone who supports the journal’s ethos, scope, editorial standards, and policies, and is a committed advocate who will support and drive their journal sections and represent BMC Cancer within the scientific community.

The Section Editor candidate is responsible for:

  • Advice on manuscripts submitted to their section
  • Promoting the journal and encouraging submissions to the section
  • Helping to recruit associate editors and reviewers
  • Helping to design and implement thematic collections and other special editions of the journal relevant to the overall scope and editorial priorities of BMC Cancer
